I'm on the hunt for a 997.2 with a stick and I seem to have seen a ton of steering wheel options...all black...black w/ silver...some with PCM buttons, some without. Some 2009s that look like they have 997.1 wheel.
Can anyone share a link to the full list or give a run down of what the options were?
I've got a 2010 C4S Cab MT, which I bought CPO'd in 2013. IIRC, 2010 was the first year with the round steering wheel, and it was available in the standard or Multi Function format, with heating also an option. Mine came with the standard wheel with the heating option, but I converted it to MF by simply buying the MF faceplate and getting in installed by my local P Dealer. I think it was about $575 for the wheel and an hour install at the Dealer. I think all of the wiring is Pre-installed for the MF option, you just need to buy the faceplate (I bought mine from Suncoast) and get it installed and programmed with PIWIS. All in, I'm really happy with the change as this has been my DD for the last 4 years. Here are my before and after pics of the swap: Originally-installed standard (but heated wheel) The updated faceplate for the MF controls
Not certain what determines the color. I have a black dash and tan seats and my wheel is all black.
Beyond that, I'd upgrade to the newer sport design wheel. I think it looks awesome, but... I'm told you can't get that one with heat. The heated wheel is great on cold days with the top down. I'm thinking of adding the multi-function controls just to break up some of the plainness of the wheel.
-2009 has the carry over 2005-2008 steering wheels for the manual 6-speed cars only, the PDK 2009 cars have the newer 2009-2016 style wheel.
2010-2012 997.2 6-speed 911s have the newer 2009-2016 style wheel (with or without multifunction with either black or grey trim piece) AND some cars have the updated 'sport design steering wheel'. and of course all things porsche there are custom color variations (options) of the steering wheels but its only really 2 steering wheels for 997.2 (not counting the 09 6-speed cars that had the older carry-over steering wheels).

usually the options list + color theme of your car interior.
