Default Brake differences between 997.2a and 997.2b

I'm not sure what the correct designations are between the early 997.2 and the later dates so I'm calling them a and b.

I'm looking for rotors for my 2012 997.2 4S and wanted to get slotted DBA 4000 or 5000 rotors. However, they are only listed for 2009-2010 for the 997.2. Are there any physical differences with the mid cycle update?

I have swapped exhaust and intakes between my '09 and my '12 and there were only differences in two heat shield mounts under the bumper--but those could be attributed to one care being base and the other a 4S. It would be strange to redesign the brakes.

Can anyone confirm that the 997.2 brake rotors are the same (or different)?

Thanks!

When you look at the Suncoast site, the only difference for 2011-2012 is for the GTS models. All C4s models have a common part number for all years.

Excellent! That's what I thought.

Thanks.

Alright, DBA is saying that there is a difference. Can someone confirm the part numbers for both the front and rears for the slotted, non-drilled rotors in the 5000 series?

DBA is saying that only the 5000 series is available for the front on the 997.2 and those are $1,200 for a pair. THmortorsports lists a 4000 series part number for early 997.2 DBA is saying that they are incorrect and that the part number listed is for a 996.

Can anyone confirm the part number? Someone has used these as a DBA brake search brings up plenty of hits. Just need to confirm the part number used.

I just ordered some DBA's also but in a 350mm, that can be an option for you as well. You would just need to space the caliper appropriately. Sorry it doesn't answer your question but at least it gives you another alternative.

are you sure a and b doesn't refer to centerlock vs 5 lug? The only different rotors would be the I450 option PCCBs, 5 lug and center lock. Otherwise, they are all the same in the PET (this link is for the 2009 PET):

Forget the a and b, I made that up as I was not sure how to differentiate between the early and the late 997.2s.

My real issue is that DBA is stating that they don't make a brake for the 997.2, at least that is what the supplier is saying. I find that hard to believe as THMotorsports show a part number for early 997.2 but the DBA distributor is stating that they don't have a 997 disk brake without upgrading to the 5000 series (two piece).

I'm just looking for a par number for the 4000 series for the 997.2S.

Do you have a part number and how were the calipers spaced?

Not stuck on DBA especially if I can't find them. I have had good experiences with them before.

On your site, if I wanted non-drilled I should go with PP996.351.409.04S-SL and PP996.351.410.04S-SL? What about the rears?

DBA42394s bought the 997 turbo model which will fit the 997.2, they are 350mm instead of 330mm. Using girodisc spacer bought from rennlist member but he stated that it was available from girodisc. Agency power also make a spacer kit to use the 350mm. Hopes this helps

Yes sir, that's correct on the fronts. Rears listed Sebro Slotted & Coated here:

https://www.paragon-products.com/Bra...405-406.02.htm

If you order online it may charge you freight on those but we'll zero it before charging your card or we'll refund the freight if you use Paypal.

I just received the DBA's and measured the rotor's thickness to be 28mm. I believe that's the size for the rear but the tag on the box clearly states "front". I will contact and clarify here once I get more info.

*update...Spoke to a customer rep and it seems that they don't have the correct DBA rotors for the front. I will be returning these.
