That's only if they don't cook it. If they cook the paint, you can do it in a day or two. If you don't cook it, then yes it needs to outgas and harden for a few weeks.

After you Excel the front you should pivot table and macro that thing. Really makes it pop.

Default Completed My Front End Respray & Expel Film Wrap!

Based on some great feedback from you guys, I ended up going with A&L Autobody in Palatine, IL a full front end respray and full front Expel film wrap (including the mirrors). I picked it up on Friday, and have been enjoying the full sun Chicago weekend with my shiny-again C4S Cab! Here are a few before and after pics, and even through they're not great quality photos it pretty clearly shows the night and day difference that this made! Thanks again for all the helpful suggestions - and the push to get the full respray as opposed to just touching up the problem areas before the film application. It was certainly more expensive, but DEFINITELY worth the extra $$$

Thanks ... Given that we've got pretty much the exact same cars, it was actually your post on your paintwork and new film that motivated me to finally pull the trigger and get mine done as well

Maybe I missed it, but could you share what the job ended up costing all said and done? Been thinking of doing the same...

Skwerl,

I initially priced it out with a shop up my way that I suspected was overpriced (they do all the paint work for the Porsche dealer just up the road), so I reached out to this crew for some suggestions for alternatives. In the end, the RL Forum crew pointed me in the right direction to use a much better option at a much better price point. Here is the list of work I had done:

1) Full front respray (bumper, hood, and both fenders)
2) Repair front license plate holes (the PO drilled the license plate holder into the front bumper, I pulled it off and used BumperPlugs)
3) Full front Expel film application (including the mirrors)

Total Cost: $3,600 (my suspicions of overpricing by the other guy was confirmed as they quoted me $6,100 for the same job). The guys at A&L Autobody in Palatine, IL were even better than the guys here had told me they would be! Their meticulous attention to detail and overall commitment to their craft was impressive, and they're also really great guys. If you're on the fence about doing the same, I'd be happy to share additional "Before" & "After" pics to help you decide

Thanks so much for the thorough reply! That does sound very reasonable for the amount and quality of the work. Now I have a good baseline of what to expect while I search in the San Antonio/Austin area.
