Default Updated Calipers

I took advantage when my engine was rebuilt and out of service for a few months to have my calipers rebuilt and refinished. They were originally unpainted and impossible to clean. I sent them overseas to Brake Caliper Specialists and the results are spectacular - hard to see in the pictures but the finish is like glass. Also put on Brembo rotors and Hawk Ceramic pads to keep them clean.

Took off my titanium lugs because it goes to the dealer next week for an alignment and new AC condensers. When I replaced my radiators a while back with CSF units I noticed that the condensers were hammered closed so I figure that has to be restricting air flow to the radiators. We'll see if it makes a difference.

Can you expand on your experience with Brake Caliper Specialists?
What did they do to refurb, turnaround time and cost?

Turn around time was about 6 weeks. One week included a repaint because they were not happy with the initial paint work. They are a top notch outfit and their prices reflect that but then again I checked all of the boxes. They offer a four year warranty which sounds crazy, however, there is ample testimony that they stand behind their work. Their communication was very good which resulted in a good experience. On the refurb my calibers had no unexpected wear or damage so mechanically just the pistons, seals, and bleeder bolts were replaced.

I just repainted mine myself. I was very happy with the results as they look much better. However, I can see when you send your brakes to the pros - the results are better. Enjoy your new/rebuilt calipers. Love the color or colour depending on were you are from.

Very nice!

Did mine over the winter. Complete tear down and rebuild of the seals and dust rings. Not a difficult task. Cleared over new PORSCHE lettering. If you take the time to do them right with lots of metal prep and sanding the overall appearance is much better than factory finish. Looking at my father in laws 2015 991 calipers next to mine there is no comparison.

How many miles do you have on the car? How bad did they look before you had them redone? I only have 35k miles on my car and I can get my calipers looking like brand new with little effort when I wash my car.

My calipers were unfinished and with a lot of effort still look dirty.

Base model calipers are anodized but not painted. They don't look great IMO even when new.
