Couldn't figure out how to delete this thread, but I got a multifunction steering wheel for my retrofit to a 996, so I don't need to buy one anymore. Hopefully I can hack it all together. Looks like I'm going to have to take a newer multifunction steering wheel, remove can-bus from it and just make the buttons analog with various resistance values, probably have to create my own circuit board for this and then hook it up the old fashioned way to the headunit. Or something else. Who knows. Wish me luck!
