Wheel Care
No luck with search feature although I'm sure this has been covered so my apologies- I am spending far more time cleaning my wheels than washing the car. Is there a product out there that is safe on the finish but can be sprayed on/ hosed off for the in between washes?

Armor All wheel cleaner is great. Its what I use. Get it at pep boys. spray it on, soak for a few minutes and wash it off. For gunk really stuck on, use a cloth to wipe off. THen wax the wheels righ then and there, and you wont wave to scrub off. Thw wax will stop the gunk from sticking.

I have found nothing better that soap and a long tapered brush, to get inside the barrels as well. All the spray on cleaners, including Porsche's, seem to leave enough residual behind that I have to take the sponge and brush to them anyway.

I asked one of my super car nerd friends for a wheel cleaner recommendation. You know what he told me? Liquid laundry detergent! Tide, Dreft, Ultra...whatever. Use about a cup of detergent to a 1-1.5 gallons of water and use brush to scrub.
I tried it last fall before winter and it worked well. I can't imagine there is anything in laundry detergent that would harm the wheels or brake components.

I use simple green, soap and water.
When you wax the car, put a coat on the wheels too. Makes a big difference in how easy it is.
Also, there wheels... no way to keep them clean if you actually drive the car. Don't kill yourself trying to keep them spotless.

Warm soapy (car wash) water.
Coat your clean wheels with Optimum Gloss Coat. About $60 for a 10 ml syringe. Once a year. Wheels off detail time.
Between washes, use Armor All Outlast Protectant. Buy at Walmart. About $9 can.

probably doesnt hurt any more than any soap. Simple green, fantastic, 409 all ok, The factor is that you never put anything on any painted part when its hot, in the sun, etc . cloth or rag but never brushes

So far, I've had the best luck with the armor all brake dust repellent, and switching to the Hawk ceramic brake pads, which reduce the dust. Still, those wheels are a pain.
I'm considering getting a new set of 5-spoke wheels when my tires wear out. Something easier to clean than the stock wheels pictured by the OP.

I've used wheel sealant in the past, which works pretty well, but just now, I'm getting my new rims ceramic coated with the superhard grade 70 stuff from Feynlab to make it as easy as possible to keep the brake dust off...

Have them coated and they will be much easier to keep clean.
Here's an example. While I do not suggest you use a spray-on/spray-off method all the time. In a pinch you can do it.
