Default Porsche to build line of electric, battery-powered cars

Is this the future of our 911's?
Ferrari has already publicly stated they will never produce an all electric car but Porsche seems to be all in on electric.

Who will buy these cars?

Just like I like more then one flavor of ice cream, I think I can like more then one type of car. I look forward to electric cars, they will have some advantages and disadvantages compared to our gas cars . However, at the same time, I want to keep my gas powered 997.

I'd buy a Porsche electric car and I support progress and change with half open arms....lol

For a commuter car, electric is great. Formula E is paving the way for electric sports cars. However, right now, I don't know of any consumer electric car than can handle the abuses of a recreational track day. So perhaps Porsche will come up with that formula.

Besides, I heard Porsche was building a SUV, who would buy that.....
