Default New to me 997.2 C4s cab

Just picked up a new to me C4s Cab:

2009

23K miles
PDLS
6 speed
Nav
Heated and Cooled
Sport Chrono
extra fitted mats

-Car is pretty decent, clean car-fax, and the price was right...actually got it at Carmax, and while they are a big place, the process was flawless, and I was very impressed. Also got the 5 year warranty from them- good price I thought- it was just over 2k for 75K of coverage

very excited- first 997.2 after having a 08 C4s coupe!

Congrats I got mine from CarMax in October as well. Used the warranty already with no issues.

Congrats on the sweet new-to-you ride! Not that I'm biased in any way, but I think you've bought pretty much the best P car out there (although I may be slightly biased with my 2010 C4S Cab MT ). Enjoy this thing to its fullest, and drive it like you stole it . Here's my slightly younger sibling to your 2009:

Nice car, congrats. Please tell me they didn't put a Carmax sticker on the back....

Nice! North Shore, another one has come over to the dark side :-)

As he said we're a bit biased but great car!
Enjoy yours and drive it in good health!
Here's my '10 C4S MT

Thanks for the kind words guys!

I love the car so far- drove it to work today and I'm realizing what a rocket ship this thing is!

first impressions compared to my previous 997.1 c4s coupe:

-I do feel like I can feel the extra power- especially with sport engaged
-it's quieter inside -which is strange considering it's a cab
-the engine is not as loud (I think I preferred the 997.1 engine note)
-cab top is just fine on a cold day, this weekend will be a better test with temps in the teens, but today it was about 25 and it was just fine.
-visibility is pretty good- just have to check the rear 3/4

carmax notes:

-very impressed with them: process was very easy, low stress-I'd recommend them. They gave me as much time as I needed to decide on the car

-they are covering without questions a few minor issues like: one key had a dead battery, missing wheel lock key

one negative: they overfilled it with oil -not terribly so, but a little bit...so i drained off about 3/4 quart and now it's fine. overall- very impressed with them

Jsalah;

Love that hard top!

That looks amazing- did your's come with it, or did you source it later?

They covered the cost of new cup holder, manuals with case, and stone guard for me when I got mine. Close to 550 worth of items.

Glad you like it!
Power increase is definitely noticeable.

I agree it's suprisingly quiet -- it is also warm -- I have a hard top as well but it's not strictly necessary by any means.

Engine note is widely acknowledged to be quieter than .1, but this is also one of the easier things to fix and a very common mod you will see is Gundo/Fister exhausts and bypasses. Mine has Fister exhausts and a Sharkwerks center bypass and it sounds like a completely different car. Literally the best non-race car cold start sound I've heard, and it's awesome ar WOT

Thanks guys. No did not come with the car, I sourced later... my car is black but the HT is Black Basalt Metallic so it doesn't technically match (VERY difficult to find 997 tops at this point). You can order new, color-matched tops via Suncoast, but they are $2500 + tax and shipping last time I checked. I got mine from a Rennlister for about $500, plus the $150 UHaul pickup I rented to drive up an hour away from my house to get it. That sounds a lot better than ~$3k to me.

I could repaint it for about $700 but honestly I'm not sure it's worth it. I got it primarily because i actually like the retro look, but it's on so rarely and actually the contrast with the car is kinda nice...

Most of the time it's hanging above the car on my motorized mount. (Steel cable-- yes, it's secure! No one panic! It's not falling. Not too many earthquakes in southern NJ.)
