You sure about that first owner? The first thing I did when buying my 997S was install PSE about 2 months after taking delivery.

Default PSE

Not sure at all since I bought it from a dealer but they made no reference to the PSE. Inquiring minds want to know...

They have a history of being wrong. I ordered one for my 911SC many years ago and it was full errors. If you check the 911 forum at Pelican you find some threads on screwed up COAs.

I was able to talk to a girl at Porsche NA. She claimed she had never heard of this happening but that they would correct it right away.

It does take away from the trust of having a "Certificate or Authenticity" that is hand signed, which is obviously incorrect. Like buying a Rembrandt with spelling errors in the COA. Maybe my car is an immigration Made in China Porsche?

^^^^ She is a filthy filthy liar.

Read this. Took him almost a year to get a correct one.

Also one of the best RL rants of all time:

^^ That is great thread (though I didn't read the whole thing). On my 1980 911SC the COA said it was a wide body, Porsche didn't offer those until 1984 or 85. There were other mistakes that I had to tell them to make right. I've owned two subsequent 911s but haven't bothered with COAs - they're not worth it. It's not like were driving 550s or 2.7 RSs.
