@Hella-Buggin' - I do really like the car a lot, and sure I wish the car had a better story, but the last thing I would do is take such a risk w/o any recourse. I was thinking the warranty would cover the engine if something went wrong but after today I see that probably is not the case. Again, I appreciate everyone's input.

Sounds to me that you are really struggling, financially, to get into a Porsche. Just remember, expensive cars are expensive to fix (assuming you are not going to do your own wrenching).

I tend to advise younger folks who are stretching from getting a Porsche or any luxury vehicle... they can be awful if you don;t have deep pockets... when they cost, they sure do cost.

Mid $40's for .1 with 70K miles and a partially rebuilt motor from an non Pcar specialist. I'm not feelin it...

BTW, a 2007 is a 997 so you should probably go over to that forum and ask.
