Default 997.1 Sat Radio / Bluetooth

Need some help for my .1 TT, but I figured this forum is maybe more active

Looking to add sat radio and bluetooth phone to my stock PCM

Trying to understand what bluetooth systems (Denison?) work with the NAVTV setup here:
http://www.uspmotorsports.com/Interi...qqMaAr9u8P8HAQ

Anybody have any experience? I reached out to the NAVTV sellers and Denison BT to ask if they worked with each other and the basic response was to "ask the other guy".

Thanks in advance

I believe that Denison will work for your needs. I had a Mobridge system in my 997.1, which worked beautifully for Bluetooth calling and music streaming. Unfortunately, it didn't offer satellite radio. I used the XM Radio app and streamed satellite radio, which worked very well.

Honestly get a new head unit with XM and Bluetooth. The .1 platform is almost ten years old now and not much support for it.

This. The previous owner installed a new touch screen Kenwood system last year before I bought it. I at first considered putting a stock unit back in, but after using it, I had admit it was way better than what was offered 10-12 years ago.

I've done this step and spent some money. A Kenwood Excelon with Apple carplay, garmin nav, SiriusXM and bluetooth phone. Done by a top shop and I'm disappointed beyond belief and told the shop as much. The head unit has a lip at the bottom for the controls (which I told them I didn't want). It doesn't fit flush in the housing; they've tried to fix it twice. I'm waiting on a 2nd outer trim piece because they scratched it when trying to get it flush the 2nd time.

The functions of the Kenwood head unit drive me nuts; it's slow, takes 3 steps to get between anything. I hate the busyness of the display. The shop put a Porsche opening "splash" screen - at 1st it comes up with 5 little logos then a single large one that looks correct. When asked why it does that "we don't know either but it looks ok....." awesome. And the SiriusXM reception comes in / out which is probably just an antenna location issue, but.....

Compare this to my 2016 F350 and it's appalling. Thus I'm trying to goto something simpler but effective. Yes, the stock Porsche nav is 10+ years old but I can use my phone for that 99% of the time.

So, trying to figure out if the NAVTV/Sirius combo will work with a Denison unit or something similar? Yes, I have music on my phone and spotify, but I don't like this option alone - i like satellite radio. I also end up being on the phone quite a bit - so I want both options.

If you have the CD changer you can use the OEM unit from the cayenne for XM.

i'd look into the tranzit blu hf. phone controls everything, music + phone calls get streamed to your pcm. after buying it for the 911, i installed them into my other cars.

Tranzit Blu HF is garbage. I recommend going with a replacement head unit and amp.

I had the Navtv XM tuner added into my stock 2007 Bose unit. It worked but at times it locked up and would not play. If I was lucky I could restart the car and it cleared. But a few times it took sitting overnight or multiple restarts to clear. I called them and they know there was a problem and suggested adding in a switch to the power lead of the XM tuner to make it easier to clear. Not even sure they sell it anymore. I had used the Pioneer Avic units before and they look good and fit good. Mobidge also makes a few products to look at

Mobridge was awesome for me, and it retained the OE headunit. It also allowed for full operation of the PCM phone functions, including the phone book, caller ID, etc. It does have an auxiliary port that would allow you to connect a Sirius XM receiver, but you'd have to purchase that separately and it wouldn't be perfectly integrated.

My navtv XM worked well when it worked. All the info was displayed on the PCM screen. It only locked up every now and then.

Tranzit Blu HF lets me stream everything from my phone...GPS, Waze, Spotify and other music apps. XM app too, although I don't use it. It has voice control but at least in the case of my iPhone 5 all Siri can do is open an app. To control it you need to use the phone, which means mounting it within sight and reach, and probably disabling the lock screen passcode entry. The Tranzit's control button activates voice control and does music play skips (forward only).

For the money it's great, especially if like me you have a Bose system, because swapping the PCM for an aftermarket head unit is problematic...either need expensive adapter or change out the amp.

Recently the song text froze on mine (only in streaming mode, the radio text works fine). I tried the easy fixes (unpairing, re-pairing, rebooting the phone, deleting/reinstalling Spotify etc) to no avail. Haven't talked to their customer service yet, probably may need to reset the device, which unfortunately may require pulling the console side panel to get at it. Frankly I don't care about the feature, it just looks weird that it says "VE" all the time whenever I'm using Spotify.
