Default Front End Control Module - Plug and Play?

I am getting "System Fault Visit Workshop" message and it appears to be my Front End Control Module. I have a 2006 CS2 Coup with option (I601 Xenon headlights).
If I need to replace the FECM is it plug and play or does it have to be programmed at the dealer. I am planning on getting the newest version (997-618-512-01) which replaces (997-610-1005-11 and 997-610-105-05).

The new front control module does require programming at the dealer

Yes, Porsche will need to re-code it. I had this happen on mine and was unable to do it via the durametric tool. My local dealer only charged me 1/2 hr labor.

durmetric pro and code it no problems. wont do the handover so you will have to take one, maybe 2 screen shots of your existing fromt module settings and manually enter them yourself.

takes 2 mins tops to enter the settings into the new module manually.
