Congrats. Porsche Oakville is a well respected dealership here. A transport company can deal with all the paperwork and with the FX rate in your favour I am sure it made lots of sense. I think that 30% grey market stuff is nonsense

I also wouldn't bother with changing the speedo. As others have mentioned it can be changed in the centre console . Mine is in MPH and all I ever look at it the centre digital readout. Its far more accurate as well

And yes, life is short. Enjoy!! Too bad you couldn't fly up and drive back. Would have been a great way to enjoy the car!

Oakville Porsche must have one helluva detail guy and a very good photographer on staff. That car looks magnificent. Well done!

Maybe we can trade gauge faces?

Congrats! I'd love to know what products they used on it. The oil pan looks brand new.

>> dbv1: A trade sounds better every minute I think about it. Let's wait till Jan-Feb when I get the car and become more familiar. Can you wait that long? My email is: must58gt at gmail dot com.

>> vern1: Thanks for the reassurance about Porsche Oakville. Everyone I've met so far has been exceptional to work with on this sight unseen scenario.

Good progress on the transport details. Thinking now about delivering the car to somewhere in the east coast or thereabouts, driving with my daughter (the only one in my family who knows how to drive a stick through the Blue Ridge Parkway and some of the other scenic areas of the country.

Some parts of that drive won't be so scenic but doesn't that sound better than having the car just simply delivered to your driveway?

I was all set on writing a 'dont do it' reply with all sorts of supporting facts.

Then I saw those photos. Facts be damned....beautiful car. Well done.

Thanks. Manual Targa's are hard to find so I had to open the aperture a bit to find one without waiting till Christmas 2018. At these prices I wasn't willing to make any concession on my list of must haves. It should arrive within 2-3 weeks ... can't wait.

That's becoming more likely everyday. I'm semi-retired now so have more time for things like this. If I travel to Oakville within the next couple weeks for an in-person, would be great to meet for coffee. Wife might be coming too.

Let me know if it is happening. Would be a great trip. Get them to order some snows and rims for it and ship the summers back south

you don't need to change the speedo and I suggest not doing it so when you sell there are less questions. you should drive her back yourself. Yes Oakville is a great dealership, I know them well.

Wow.
Beautiful colour and wheels.
I might just try and intercept that before it crosses the border.
Congrats and enjoy.
