Default Tuning a base 997.2

2009 Carrera 2 PDK.

Id like to make it more exciting by either adding the sport mode software or the evomsit tune. Is one distinctively better than the other?

would doing both do anything or would it be redundant?

The guy at my local shop (a very well known and respected shop) suggested the pedalbox... From what I've read, it sounds like it kind of does the same thing as the sport mode addition.

basically I'm trying to make the car have a little more pep in its step without breaking the bank 👍🏻

also considering the IPD plenum

I would do an exhaust then tune like evoms or softronic. That's it.

I have the agency power muffler, x pipe exhaust, it sounds great, you get free flow exhaust, and the bmc filters in the air box and the evomsit tune. My car is pdk so they custom set the idle up a bit and it reduces all the lag and vibrations at start off. it really opens the car up. if you have a extra 1k you can try the ipd but dont do it unless you do everything all at once.

I would recommend hitching a ride with someone with PDK and Sport Chrono, and, if they're nice, let you drive it. There is a significant upside to adding the Sport Chrono to a PDK-equipped car. And it's OEM if that may be important to you.

Having driven a base model without sport chrono and a car with an aftermarket tune, the addition of sport mode has to be #1 IMO. The aftermarket tune is nice for the mid range power, but the sport chrono and how it changes the behavior of the PDK is way more "bang for your buck".

Suncoast sells the Sport Mode software and switches for $895. They estimate 2-3 hrs of labor to install at your local dealer.
