Default It is 3 AM PST...

...and if the boss asks, tell her I'm chasing down these two slackers somewhere in the Sierra Nevada!

PS Time will tell where we end up, how we get there and what trouble we cause.

How come I wasn't invited? My crutches would have fit in the car.

Now that's a proper road trip. Watch out for the wildlife at those hours (in all forms).

Nearly 24 hours later, we rolled home after ticking 700+ miles and enough smiles and turns, whoop-de-dos and thumbs-up to last a lifetime -- although that won't stop us from doing this again!

A full trip report will have to wait until I catch-up (and give some loving to the Tart) but to say the least, if you're ever in the Lee Vining area of the Eastern Sierra in CA, and you want to experience driving Nirvanna, turn the Porsche onto CA 120 east off of US 395 and drive it to the end of the road.

And then turn around and go back.

You'll understand.

Last pic of the day follows and one below of a mark we left on the way...and if you look beyond Mono Lake, that is where CA 120 is located...

Wow.. sounds like an unbelievable experiance.

I'm still trying to figure out why it took you 24 hrs to go 700 miles. Your average speed obviously wasn't high enough.

I think david misspoke. Wayne, who was on the drive, sent me a pic of his trip data screen, 700 miles, 12 hr 44 min.

Yup the 24 hrs was from when I 1st opened my eyes to when I couldn't keep them open any longer.

And while we could always go faster (well, marginally at least), we did take the time to get petrol, eat, bitch, pee and post stickers!

Posting pics from my phone is tough, so I'll share a link showing how the Sierras look after our October storms.

More pictures on the 964 Forum with a lovely description of the 120. When your rear wheels lift at the top of the whoopdies and the car goes into tank slappers (back to my motorcycle days) apply throttle. These cars straighten out so nicely 8)

Looks like high pressure is returning to CA which means Tioga Pass will soon re-open so if you are in the neighborhood, it may be wise to do the Sonora Pass > Tioga Pass loop and do and out and back over CA 120...
