New member.

I expected many posts here to mention Rejex. It's a wax substitute that the aerospace industry uses to protect paint and metal from engine exhaust. I haven't washed my car since using it. The dirt simply doesn't stick. Especially useful for wheels.

With the Rejex, it looks like a paint sealant, did you polish before applying this?

I use a product called Mitch. It's amazing pulls up to your house and 3 hours later it's done without any effort. Technique Detail. He now after the detail uses a new product call Hydro2 Silica Sealant.

looks promising, but the info says it should be reapplied every 4-6 months. I'd like longer than that.

I applied the Rejex over a polished and washed base. In fact, there were probably three consecutive coats of wax under the Rejex. In other words, I can't say the Rejex improved appearance ( which was outstanding to begin with) but it lets me "wash" the car by simply rinsing it off. No soap, no brush no mitt. A robust water stream and a blow dry from the compressor. Then follow that with a wipe from a soft cloth ( which comes out clean).

My first Rejex application is now three months old and still working like the first day I applied it.

Sounds crazy but weekly wash and monthly wax and by waxing rugularily, I have never ever had to clay bar a vehicle. Ever!
Just a quick go over with the California duster after each drive.
Even on my 18 year old 4Runner who's paint was still shiny & smooth as glass when I sold it this summer.

What kind of cordless orbital buffer/polisher have you guys bought? I see some nice ones out there, but not sure which one to get. My Balsalt Black needs swirls buffed out, and I don't think I can do it by hand.

They make cordless ones?? Do they have the power to get the job done? How long do the batteries last.

I have a Flex 3401 with a cord and that thing could buff out a tank!! Never found the cord to be much of an issue

Yes they make cordless ones, no outlets in my condo garage. So I need cordless, I think having two battery packs charged up should do a 997 911.

Just tried something today and it worked great. For those of us with black cars, you don't want to touch it with anything. So i have been drying with a leaf blower. But that leaves "micro" water spots they you can see in the sun. I was watching a commercial for spotless rinse that is used for dish washers. I figured why not use it on the car....

I used it to pre-rinse the car using my foam gun after washing but before final rinse. When I used the leaf blower the water flew off. No spots! It's safe to eat so I assume it's safe on paint...
