They seem to have good inventory. They move lots of cars there.

Ha... Congrats. And if you ever miss a manual 2010 C4S let me know-- I'm in your area and that's what I've got.

What's the issue with dress shoes?

I drove a 7tt 6 speed in leather soled dress shoes everyday for over a year. decent shoes aren't stiff and as an do on as you scuff the soles, the grip is fine.

Congrats on the new car

Dress shoes are too stiff and too slick for me to drive in. I keep my driving shoes in my car.

I've never had any issues with dress shoes in my 997 turbo or my 996. I don't understand that one either.

Totally doable.

I don't buy junky dress shoes but I can say that I'm still not totally comfortable driving a manual transmission in them even after 10+ years of driving MT on a daily basis.

Loafers (a la Senna above) are no problem because they're relatively flexible and thin but stiff soled oxfords kill me. The total lack of feel and bite on the clutch pedal is disconcerting. I've never had any mishaps though, it's really a confidence/perception thing. Just another factor that made commuting in the 997 less than desirable.

Alan Edmunds and Johnson Murphy. Both not junky dress shoes. And they are too stiff and slick to drive in for me anyhow.

I just contacted your dealer and he sent me a couple phone pics of your car and limited details. It is CPO and they are asking $66,995.

I couldn't tell from his description or pictures if it had the sports package.

Totally doable.
I'm not Senna, and those are not stiff dress shoes in the video. I can drive with loafers and even boat shoes, but just don't like the feel of stiff and slick dress shoes. But I love my low-cut supple leather Piliotis with the rolled heel. Very comfy.

I have tons of allen edmonds, as well as stuff from the brits, and its not a problem.

Sure, they aren't driving mocs, but they aren't very stiff.

Driving in red wings on the other hand is a bit tricky as you get no pedal feel.

Uh oh, you are going to bring the 991 haters out of the woodwork as they all claim the 997 is soooo much more visceral than the 991, last of the great Porsches etc etc

Congrats on the new car - how it got to a loafers discussion is beyond me but that Senna video is always cool

Maybe these?

FWIW, for street driving, there's no difference to me between loafers, dress shoes, boots, running shoes or those funky 5-toe Vibram things. Heel-toe still works. And right pedal still goes.

Try wearing a pair of Jon Lob's and driving a manual - I do it a few times a week and definitely not preferred. First world problems.

Congrats OP, glad you are happy.

Would like to see a picture of that 997.2 C4S - one of my favorite 911's.
