Fab CAI intake with 2" Gundo?
anyone running a Fabspeed CAI with a 2" Gundo on a 997.2? I got my gundo done today, sounds decent but very "boxed in", I think some of that muffled sound is actually the intake - might try the stock box again and see how it sounds.

I know what you mean. It is especially evident when statically revving the car. There is too much of a mechanical whining sound and not enough induction noise. The Fabspeed intake for the .2 fixes it right up and sounds great with the exhaust. I have PSE but it should be the same idea.

Before 4500? All the graphs I have seen show flat or loss below 4500. Not sure what the OP is looking for but I wouldn't want to spend 1200 for sound and a loss of power where it is wanted the most on the street.
Now if there actually are gains across the band.. I'm in !

I can't find the dyno chart for the Fabspeed x pipe but the dyno chart for the Sharkwerks bypass pipes is below. There is a consistent gain across the entire rev band. It is one of, if not the most popular mod on .2 cars for a reason.

That's from the manufacturer which we all know isn't accurate. That would be a great increase if it is.
I don't have any real world experience yet with them so don't want to debate too much. If the OP has the cash and this gives him the sound/performance he wants... all good. To resolve a sound issue with an intake/gundo just seems unnecessary to me.
Best advise, find someone with the suggested setup and be your own judge... to each is own. It's not the fourms car, it's yours.

It's true the dyno is from our own test, however we took the car to an independent dyno facility (Stasis in this case) not putting it on a "Sharkwerks dyno" where we could just change the numbers. Stasis had never met us and had no incentive to lie to us or manipulate the numbers. Of course it's in our interest to see bigger numbers, but our real goal was to show it didn't lose any power (a common concern) and we wanted to confirm that since we owned the car and had the time. I am very skeptical of the horsepower gains I read on any product and most of our exhaust parts for other cars are sold with "sound optimization" in mind and I'm happily selling products with zero horsepower gain. This 997.2 really surprised us, maybe the results are from the full 3-muffler system being so restrictive and those two u-turns inside the center muffler when you cut it away.
That said, we did not have a gundo hack on our car or an intake. I haven't dynoed those parts so your results would probably vary. If you open up the exhaust too much, you will likely lose low end torque and throttle response.

I didn't end up putting the stock box in, I'm actually not minding the exhaust note - took a bit to get used to, definitely a bit more "aggressive and throaty" - doesn't sound like my neighbors sport exhaust but definitely sounds more aggressive than stock
