Need help with potential purchase (997.2 C2S 6-Speed)
I thought my hunt for a 997 was over after I drove a PDK model and hated it. This all changed yesterday when I drove a 6-speed.
The car in question is a mint, 1-owner, 2011 C2S. 30k miles. Looks brand new (previous owner was a PCA member). Aesthetically, it doesn't get much better. White/red. Turbo-II wheels. The car is stunning.
Downside? It's very lightly optioned.
Personally, I don't care that it's missing Sport Chrono. PSE would have been nice. Same with parking sensors. I can, however, live without them. That said, I do understand that some consider these to be "must-have" options.
With this in mind, is this car considered "undesirable"? Or are we reaching a point now where 6-speed cars are becoming increasingly hard to come by and a base car will still be in demand because of the transmission?
They are sitting firm at $58k and I really don't know where this falls on the spectrum. Any input would be more than appreciated

997.2 C2S manuals are hard to come by in my neck of the woods. I was looking for one for awhile and ended up with a .1 instead. $58k sounds a little steep but like I said..around me they're pretty rare. Either they are getting snatched up quick or no one is selling theirs (cuz they loves it!).
The sport chrono isn't that big of a deal since you can get the software from a dealer later and unless you actually track your car PASM is kind of a waste..the ride in sport mode is way too firm for street driving imo.
What year is the car? I've seen a 2010 with 60k miles go for ~$46k and there is another dealer around here trying to rob people with a 2009 with 22k and shady title/service records for ~$53k.

Seems like the car has all of the important options: full leather and sports seats. You could always add a new head unit with Apple Car Play and call it a day. Sports Chrono isn't necessary for a 6 speed.

NONE of it makes the base car any better. Do i use some of the options, sure. However, I would enjoy it the same if it were just a base 997.2 c2s.

I think (just my opinion) the big miss is only lack of Sport Chrono.
Don't think anyone would possibly care about parking sensors on a 911. Easiest car ever to park.
Sports exhaust is a nice to have but I personally prefer how mine sounds (Sharkwerks plus Fister sides) and would never want the baffles closed. Even the PSE is insufficient without addressing the center muffler anyways...

This is great, as you'd be getting a good base car which you then can modify to your heart's content. As for me, the really must-have option is the sports seats. And I never found that elusive manual either...

You can add sport chrono and an exhaust that will sound better than PSE and lose the center muffler at the same time. I haven't been following the market but that's a pretty rare color combo if you like it (not to mention the sport seats in natural leather).
I have a 997.2 S manual coupe and have no intention of letting it go any time soon.....

I say its desirable because it is Carrara White, has red leather, its an S, its a 6 speed, and it has sport seats. And $58k for a low mile S car in excellent condition doesn't seem too steep. Like someone said above, its the end of the month, I bet they let it go for $55k.
