Three Wheelin'
For a daily driver and dark wheels, just switch to a pad that doesn't dust as much as the OEM pad. Then buy Sonax wheel cleaner. You should be set for 2-3 years. If you want white wheels or some loud color like lime green, you're on your own...
I plastidipped by wheels a dark grey and tracked the car maybe 10 times last year taking the wheels on/off maybe 20 times. The dip was all torn up near the wheel bolts and looked like crap at the end of the season. However, it would pass the 10ft test. So all in all, I was pleased with the $50-60 color test. I powder coated the wheels early this year to finalize everything.
I plan to dip my off season wheels. The cost/benefit of plasti dipping wheels is very positive in my opinion.

I did my winters and was pleased with the look. Did them off the car so haven't done the center caps yet. Will pull them this weekend and do them so you can just see the coloured crest. Don't plan on touching them much over the winter so we'll see how they handle it

You dont have to take the caps off. This is the great thing about Plasti dip. Spray the caps and when dry, rub your finger in the middle of the cap and pull the plasti dip back and it will come off around the edges of the logo. It will look like you taped around the edge of the logo perfectly.

A few mentioned how flat plastidip black is. I thought the same and found the silver metalizer quite impressive. It definitely adds some depth and a blue-ish tint to it. 500 miles and a few washes and holding up fine. Simply green seems to do the trick to take off brake dust. I didn't apply a thick of a coat as I should have neither.

Vern, I think the wheel shape has something to do with it as well. Also your's looks smoother than mine. It's nicer than flat black.
Here's a better angle?

Looks great!! Funny I was thinking yours looked smoother
Mine isn't real smooth as the rim itself had a fair amount of oxidation through the clear coat and all I did was clean thoroughly and spray. These are for my winters so I wasn't concerned with having a smooth finish
However I think this is a great option for refinishing and just changing up your rim colour for a while. I was quite pleased with the look.
Those your summers? Those are the same rims I have for my summers (although have my eye on some champion rs98's )
