Has your 'memory seat' module crapped out? Does the seat move into position when you get in and turn on the ignition?

I think you changed your battery recently....pretty sure that if you totally removed the 12V power from the car....that option gets turned off and you need to go to the dealer to turn it back on.

Seat stays in the position. If I move the seat then push '1' it does go back to where it belongs.

I did remove the battery...

I didn't know about this option. Is it available on all 997's? I have a 997.2 with memory on the seats. Do you have to go to the dealer to activate it, or can you use Durametric?

Thanks!

2009 C2S 100K miles

I have had the same intermittent problem since I purchased the car used 75K miles ago. The memory button works if pushed, but there is auto nothing. Odd, but yesterday I tilted the seat forward and the motor came on to move the seat forward.... I hadn't seen that one in years.

Most of the time the auto memory return does not work..... then, by chance, it starts to work... and then not.

When I purchased the car used, I took it to my local dealer for some fluid changes and to check it out... I told them about the problem as I recognized it early on... they said they could find nothing wrong with it....... it was working at the time..... since I've stopped using the dealer and now DIY and gave up on the memory.

Peace

When locking/unlocking, the car is reacting properly to the programming associated with the key in question.

One hack is to program the key to the ingress/egress settings (seat way back, etc), and have a memory button for the driving position.

I useto pull the key out and my seat would go all the way back, then I open the door and locked it.

WHen I got back in, it was all the way back already and when I put the key in it would go to my position.

That worked until I got a new key from Porsche who now is clueless how to fix this problem.

Each key is recognized by the car as Key 1 or Key 2. The car knows and stores the seat memory positions for each key. I think Key 1 stores two positions, Key 2 gets one memory. Its all in the very detailed manual. Take time to read through all of it, its tricky. Its German what do you expect.

Being 6'3" I would love to have my seat move back when I turn the ignition off. I bought the car used and it has never done this. As asked earlier, is this something that needs to be enabled by dealer or via Durametric? Never heard anyone mention this before.

I had looked at my manual also and found nothing that references this function.

The Sports Chrono package gives you very important options like...whether one door or both doors unlock with remote. Locking option to lock immediately with the key on, or wait until the car moves. Interior lights fade-out time and some air conditioning settings.
