4. Replacing the rotors on C4S 997s are a MAJOR expense. just putting that out there.
I don't believe there is anything particularally expensive about c4s brakes, unless you are using a dealer to do the work?

Rotors are $150- brembo's, and pads are 50.00 or so

If it helps, I bought my 06 c4s cab a few months ago. 27k miles, sport exhaust, sport chrono, full leather, Bose, etc etc. flawless condition and $116,000 original window sticker. I paid $44k and they did 30k mile service with plugs etc and put new tires on it.

I'd say the one you're looking at is overpriced by a good $10k unless the market has blown up like the air-cooled ones in the last 90 days. (it's not)

Thanks guys. We've decided to continue out search and minimize risk by finding an 09 or newer model that qualifies for CPO.

I am glad I did most of the things myself, otherwise I could not afford to own such car. If you are not mechanically inclined buy a more recent Porsche car or a Toyota.

Update - went to the same event a year later. Saw the same car for sale...same guy, same spot on side of the road, same $20k-too-high price.

Also, I don't know if I mentioned this... Through some internet searching, I was able to find the PO of the car. Said he sold it really cheap because it was having issues...
