I used to use a leaf blower. Now I use this device from Griot's Garage. It's really great for blowing water out of the nooks and crannies, wheels, etc.

Make sure you don't get one with a hard plastic end, I got mine with a soft plastic cone, just in case you bump it against a panel!

I bought this years ago for drying my Road King, great for crevices and the pesky water that resides in your side mirrors, and around tail lights, warm air as well.

Burning Brakes
A cheap $40 electric leaf blower from Sears will do. It works great, a bit loud but what leaf blower isn't.

I follow the Bateman routine:
I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower, I use a water activated gel cleanser. Then a honey almond body scrub. And on the face, an exfoliating gel scrub. Then apply an herb mint facial mask, which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an aftershave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.

Tried clay bar for first time after reading this thread, was annoying with quick detail they tell you to use. Kept leaving clay and it would stick. Half way switched to soapy water, and that made all the difference. A coat of carnuba wax and I'm done. Hard not see every little speck of dust in the sun after that....

Question on clear guards/film
I have a newly acquired 997 and the car has a 3M or comparable type film protectant over Arctic silver. The film goes about halfway up the frunk, around the mirrors and panels. Any suggestions on how to identify the type of film and age? Also any recommendations on the cleaning routine ...should it differ from a non covered car? Thanks !
