Then my goal is to REALLY learn to drive the car. Gonna do some research for some local track days for beginners and take it from there. I think a 7 year old car with 20k deserves to be driven for its intended purpose and not just around town. Gonna take the chain off that dog now
Sounds good!

Yes, Dan is a great guy. So you'll end up with my setup on the stone guards! They have been on for nearly two years and no fading, delamination....and contrary to what some fear, they don't fly off!

I left my factory clears guards on and these just fit on top. Remove then before you wash the car....that's all that these require.

Thread hijack time! I love the guards red, but what should I do with Midnight Blue?

I've already got DEPO Chrome sidemarkers.

I'm pondering:
1. Red "S"
2. Speedster Stone Guards (Black?)
3. Rear 3 window tint

I'm liking the Red-White (grey) - Blue motif. What would you do?

Definitely need gangster tint to block out that intense Alberta sunlight!

Car looks awesome. Clear side markers will definitely make the purists happy. I think the black stone guards don't work with such a dark exterior color. Just my 2 cents. A red S would look nice against the midnight blue IMO...T

I agree re: stone guards. Different colour available or should I abandon?

I can't think of a color that would look good against the blue. A dark color would not stand out. A light color would stick out too much. I'd stick with what you have, or replace with clear if the original is looking ratty, and save my dough for something else - how old are the tires? Best "mod" I made to my 911 was replacing the old Bridgestone's the car came with, and getting MPSS and an alignment....T

They're Michelin PS2's with ~80-90% tread left. I have the Sharkwerks center muffler bypass on order...but I can't NOT tinker with things. If boredom overtakes me I'll endup with the IPD plenum, for better or for worse.

Grab some Plastidip in silver for the rims. It will brighten up the whole look of the car and bring it together. If you dont like it, you are out $30 and its reversible. The black rims drag it down IMHO....kinda 2009. The lobsters are a great looking wheel. I had a set of 20's on my Range Rover.......Overfinch made a copy cat for Land Rover.

A red 997 can be a really beautiful thing when its up to shine.

There's a guy on here who recently picked up a 997S - Guards Red with Aerokit and grey wheels (similar to some you see on the 997.2 GT3) - it looked awesome.
