long story short.

I was driving along an avenue (40 mph) when someone behind me (old black Land Rover) started honking at me and then decided to drive along beside me and cut me off by merging onto my lane, literally thrashing their vehicle onto mine. I performed an evasive maneuver to avoid his vehicle from hitting mine. All I did was sharply steered away from the violently approaching vehicle. My maneuver sort of looked like Motor Trend performing a slalom test except only one cone.

After I executed the evasive maneuver, my 911 started revving high and was ready to take action. It was like my 911 was a sleeping monster that just got woken up. I don't have Sport Chrono on my car but I have noticed if I drive aggressive my engine acts differently by revving higher, as if it has a sport mode without the button. Can anyone please explained to me why that is?

Others can correct me, but basically it sounds like you have never downshifted or full throttled the car suddenly? I am guessing that you may have hit the gas hard, maybe without really realizing it?

If you sharply throttle the car, you basically get into the second part of the variocam one part is for trotting around town and fuel economy, and one gets into the higher rev's for more power.

Sounds like you pressed the accelerator, which is very common when people are startled... AND...

They will deny it until the sun swallows the Earth. It wasn't voluntary, and you didn't mean it... and you KNOW you didn't.

But you probably did.
