I did that recently and I am very glad. We have a lot of days at 98-104 here in Raleigh, and the central radiator helps keep the temperature below 220 and most of the times below 200. I love it.

Its been in the 70's for weeks. Hey, its gonna crack 80 here today in the Seattle area. Time to power on the home cooling and keep the windows rolled down.

Seriously though, I can sympathize.. lived in the south for decades in 95+ F 90% humidity summer weather.

Spent a summer working at Edwards AFB, up near Boron. I agree, the old saw about "dry heat" got old quick, and after it was 110+, who cares. Going outside, with the wind blowing, was like standing in front of a blast furnace. Made Texas summers seem tepid in comparison. Hopefully, your heat wave will break soon...T

That location is just about in the middle of hell on earth for temps...

I worry about my Boxer dog Sarge in this heat, he swims in our pool and has plenty of shade but he is getting older and the heat gets to them.
On bad days I will just leave him in my home office while at work.

110 today with a 30% chance of storms...so hot and humid. 11:10 tee time. Should be nice and toasty by the back nine!

Today at lunch... seriously this is crazy.
Were supposed to get a Pacific marine inversion layer first of the week! It drops temps 15 deg in 6 hours when they roll through.

It's currently 112 deg with another 10 straight days predicted over 105 deg. ugg
114 here today; not a single day since June 15 with a high below 106, and several stretches 3-5 days at 110 plus. High last weekend was 117. Yes, 117.
Next week it's supposed to cool off dramatically---highs all week will be no more than 100-102. Brrrrr….

Yes, I live on the surface of Venus. Also known as the western Arizona desert.

Yeah; there are, however upsides.
1. No snow, after 50 years in Chicago.
2. See below.

Yikes. You leave it out in the sun? I have to remind our visitors from up north, that quoted temps are shade temps. Try finding much of that here in Texas. As a demo, I once took my thermometer, which was sitting at a brisk 105 F, and then put it in the direct sun. Climbed to 120+ degrees. Hottest temp I've recorded with my IR thermometer in our backyard was about 160 F on a black Weber grill that had been sitting in the sun, when we had our crazy heat wave in 2011. Stay safe out west!

That is a great pic!

Upsides here also, our pontoon boat at Bass Lake just outside Yosemite's gate docked during the summer. 40min drive to cabin with boat waiting. Temps are 20 deg lower.
