Sport (Beast) Mode does prove its worth!
Just had the opportunity to autocross the 997.1 yesterday and the results were impressive. Drove the morning session in street mode to feel the responsiveness and learn the cars reaction. Car was all over the track. felt like I was in a drifting competition, pitching the car side-to-side, fast on, fast off, hard on the brakes, understeer, all the uglies. Was it the tires or rusty me. Hmmm. Lap times were average compared to the field. So afternoon session, switched the ride into Sport mode. OMG. Game changer folks. Throttle response great, car handled better and felt very aggressive overall. Improved lap times by 3 seconds. Running Hankook Ventus V12 street tires. Conclusion: Having 20yrs plus years of fast street and track driving the 997 met my expectations. My last lap was third fastest overall and I was running against a couple of GT3's, a well setup 914, and a very fast Cayman S. I am really going to have fun in this car BEAST MODE ONLY especially when I slap the Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires on next week. I may consider upgrading to new springs.
Folks, these cars are meant to drive hard and fast! I'm in car #935. Oh, please do not knock my driving shoes, my Piloti's had mold in them, lol....
Loaner helmet, LOL....Mine was out of date and not allowed.

Posts like this are the reason I keep coming back to RL! I call Sport Plus, the Smile Inducer or the Holy Carp Button, but Beast Mode, I may have to steal that!
Great post.
