2009 C2S 99K miles Mt. Full Bose PCM3 with comm option.
Question1: Will the computer throw a code if I completely remove the PCM3 system? Will it light the dash?
Question 2: I have a Durametric Pro so can I tell the system the PCM is not there?
Please note, 'o8 and older, these cars behave very differently with these darn computer issues, so I am only interested in 997.2 experience.
I am going to replace the entire head unit and amplifiers for a new system but am worried about throwing a code.
I am told by a reputable source it will throw a code... he could not remember if it lit the dash or not. I don't care about the deep codes, but a light on the dash is not good.
Edit: I just checked floatingkiwi's Durametric catalog and it appears to be a few options to tell the system PCM installed/not installed. Maybe this is all I need.... any experiences here? I really don't want a permanent light on the dash.
Peace
