Remote Key Question

One of my two remote keys stopped working when I push the remote button.
I changed the battery after this happened.
The key with the new battery does not unlock the doors electronically.
My second key does work fine however.
Is there anything to be done short of taking it to the dealer for the inevitable ripping off?

Try this synchronization process from the manual for a coding interruption (I think these keys transmit a sequence of frequencies and with a new battery may establish a new starting point):
"Encoded data is transmitted to the vehicle each time the wireless remote control is operated. If the remote control is operated too often outside the range of the vehicle, this can result in the central locking system no longer responding. In this case, the remote control and vehicle must be synchronized:
Unlock the driver's door with the key at the door lock.
2. Open driver’s door and insert the ignition key into the ignition lock within 10 seconds to prevent the alarm system from being triggered.
3. With the key inserted, press and hold button1 on the remote control for approx. 5 seconds.
The synchronization is now complete."

I had the same problem. I cleaned the contact points for the battery with a q-tip and rubbing alcohol. Then I pulled up on the prongs (gently) so they would provide more resistance with the battery - and then the key worked again. Good Luck!
