I always feel guilty posting in the "what did you do to your 997 today" when I just get it out and drive it with out doing anything to it.
So I made my own post.
Today I went to Cars & Coffee at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway. I also had a chance to go in the museum for the first time in 30 years, even though I only live 20 minutes away. The museum has two Porsche 917's and a Porsche Indy Car Motor. Pretty cool.
To Best Buy, boring. But yesterday I was teaching my 15yo daughter how to drive it (manual) in her school parking lot. A highschool guy pulled along side us in his truck and said "that is a sweet car!" I said thanks- wanna drive it? I let him do a few laps around the lot. Totally made this kids day.
Alas, my trip in my .2 C4S Cab today was far more mundane - driving into Chicago to coach my son's soccer game (in which we sadly came in 2nd). But as the noted Porsche enthusiast Ralph Waldo Emerson said: "It's not the destination but the journey"
nowhere unfortunately. Tires are bald, and I'm waiting for my wheels which are taking their sweet time getting done... relevant, because my new tires are waiting to go on it.
Met up with 5 other Porsche rennlisters and we drove twistys in and around Bear Mountain and Harriman State Park. At bit cold today but the roads were fun as usual.
(You can obviously tell which one is mine -- the only 997 there! "One of these things is not like the other" . HOT DAMN that GT4 is a nice car. Porsche finally got it right.)
Drove to east Edmond Oklahoma so I could stretch the 911 legs..
Still adjusting to the flatness of okc... I heard there are great mountain roads in Arkansas though
