I did a write up on replacing mounts in a 997.2... and comment on my experience with OEM Corteco vs Porsche Corteco...... Good luck, easy job.

That's too bad you had bad luck with the Corteco mounts. I always make sure to inspect my parts whenever I receive them and especially before I install them on any vehicle. I have had bad experiences with receiving used or damaged parts in the past. Most of the time it's a simple exchange. FYI, Corteco makes the very exact same mounts that Porsche is selling, the only difference is the price but if people want to pay a little extra for a peace of mind, that's fine by me. BTW your write up was excellent. How is you 911 behaving now that you have the new mounts installed?

With the new mounts, the car is not as squishy as it was but still squishy. To be totally honest, I am not sure this was a necessary replacement. Part of the job was I have an odd clunk and I thought it may be the mounts. The car had circa 95K miles on it so what the heck.
If I were to do it again, and I just may this summer, I would get the tunable ones from Rennline... they have three different stiffnesses. The car is just too squirly in hard turns where you are on the gas hard.... you can feel the load shift. My Boxster was never like this.
There is a good reason Porsche moved to those dynamic mounts... they are not a gimmick. Porsche wants to sell more cars and to do this, they must make them fat and sloppy... then they turn and invent some product that does both.

Yes, they fit. Double check that they supply the longer bolt for the 997.2. I had to get longer bolts but I didn't buy from suncoast. Understand that this will make the chassis feel stiffer and less comfortable on less than perfect roads. For me it's a must do

Is there a way to retrofit a dynamic mount from 997.2 GT3/Turbo to 997.1 cars?

I put the RennLine engine mounts in last night. The yellow/street version. Had to go up and down with the engine jack a few time to ensure that they were seated properly but they went in easily. I was skeptical and, granted, I've only driven a few miles, but I feel the difference. As an old time 911 owner, I've always thought the shifting in our cars is outstanding, especially compared to the older cars. I think it does feel more precise. Note that I also have the FF transmission mount insert, too. I think I feel a little more vibration. It's not intrusive and I like it. The car feels more connected and raw. Overall, I am pleased.

Three Wheelin'
Bumping an older thread because I just did this DIY tonight - thanks for the straightforward instructions. I also purchased the Corteco OEM-equivalents and it cost about $240 with free shipping. The only thing I would add to the prospective DIY-er is, after removal of the old mount, to have a second jack handy to provide some support along the engine bracket in order to gently lift the engine bracket back up and allow for easier threading of the 18 mm bolt onto the new mount. When I was using the jack to support the engine under the drain pan, once the 18 mm was remove, the engine carrier slipped below the level of the threads so I had to jack up the engine carrier a bit with a separate jack to facilitate threading of the 18 mm nut.
So far it seems like shifting is slightly improved. I still have vibrations at idle, guess that's just the character of the car (and those FF trans inserts). My drivers side exhaust tips are hanging lower than the passenger's side, so I will have to adjust the muffler brackets this weekend.
