well I will be short..I had a 2007 997 S a few year ago and thought I should get something new for the hell of it. Bought a loaded 2014 Cayman S and loved it for about a year but then needed something because we had a baby..Bought a 2015 911S had that for 15 months and sold it yesterday for a Macan GTS.
Heres the thing..My boy is 2 1/2..the 911 is not great..the passenger suffers..My wife hated it..her knees were almost toughing the dash and my boy would kick the seat..So I made everyone happened got the Macan GTS..
Those of you thinking of one of those,all I can say is they are really cool..I took a short term lease as this is my 1st run with a SUV type..But its really cool..
I had a few things to do at the dealer today and while I was there I took a spin in a 2007 997 Cab..OMG..As soon as I started it up I was happy..I forgot what that hydraulic steering felt like..the 997 IS SO much more fun to drive than my 991S..I am now gonna start keeping my eyes on the 997 market..I am getting another in the next year..
The 991 S is a very capable car but not as fun or raw as the 997..All the fun in the 991 started over 100mph..
GOing 60 in the 997 was so much fun..the car feels SO alive..Damn i never should have sold it

When i hear people that have actually owned both 991 & 997 say that they prefer the 997, it makes me happy.

Please sing the praises on the would you buy a 991 thread as some jack wagon believes that we all drive lowly 997's because we cannot afford a 991. For some folks, money is not the impediment (clearly you are doing a ok in the $ department). I personally don't care for some things about the 991 which I described in detail on that thread but it's great to see someone with a 991 coming back into the fold of the 997 for the intagibles that make a 997, a possibly better "drivers" car than the 991

the 991 is a better performing car..Its faster and has more neutral handling..Its easier to drive faster..
the 997 makes me smile when i drive it..its more raw and that equals more fun..
It is VERY noticeable ..
