Default Mother nature is a @#$%

Two nights ago I woke to a violent storm. Buckets of rain steady for 2 hrs. had me worried our creek would flood and possibly overwhelm my garage where the P car lives. On go the boots and Gortex and inspect the creek....too late.

There was already 4" of water in my garage. The floor drains had reversed due to outside flooding.

I ran for the keys and before I opened the garage door took a look outside. There was a wall of water hitting the door. If I opened the door things would get worse fast!

Just than the weather breaks favorably, the rains slow considerably. I'm watching the water get very close the the undercarriage of my car and finally waters start to recede.

Yesterday and today lots of clean up. The car was never touched. Phew!

I need a drink.

Close call and you were lucky. Next thing you could have done is jacked up the car in the garage to give you several more inches of clearance.

Hopefully your garage is okay.

Couple of years ago. Big rain here too.
Power went out. Water level began to rise.
I live in a valley. I lifted the sump cover. Water level was one inch below.
Figuring I was up ships creek, power was out, dusk.
Felt my way to the basement fridge. Best have a few beers, before they get warm.
What can you really do?

PasPar2 - I'll take a knee for that. Hope it worked out.

Thank goodness is right. After all the fuss I discovered that my Honda lawnmower which I bought three days prior was submerged.

Lots of diassembly, fluid change and fingers crossed.

I'm installing some cutoffs for the floor drains THIS WEEK!!!
