Yeah, there is a power blind that covers the whole roof to block the noon sun. Kind of like those in the back of S class'. The roof glass is darker and at an angle look as black as the car. The owners manual says it has a UV block so you won't get a sunburn. I think the hatch back is the coolest part of the targa. It's easy to drop a bag or two in the back from the top. No wrangling around the front seats to get to the package shelf.
The Targa has quirks though. You definitely need to spend extra time caring for the top. It will squeak if you don't clean and lube it. Visibility out of the back is partially obstructed when the top is down. It's like having a really big spoiler in the way. You can miss other low slung cars like Corvettes, R8s, Lambos, etc...
It's the almost convertible. I imagine the torsional rigidity is somewhere between a coupe and convertible. You still have structure around you so all tracks are open to you, but the glass roof adds weight. The Targa comes with some compromises but is a pretty sweet package IMHO.
