Default Dead LED in fog/turn signal light for 997.1

Anyone else have one of the LED go out in their fog/turn signal lights. I just noticed it when I saw the reflection from the car in front of me. I set the fog light to be on all the time as my DRL. Could it be possible that it overheated? Can it be repair/replaced or am I SOL.

I would think the official fix is a completely new light unit. But if you are adventurous you may be able to open it up and replace a single LED.

Did you come up with a solution? I just picked up a low milage (21,000) 997.1, and would like to replace the original lights with LED

I didn't feel like cracking it open & risk breaking something else so I bought another set instead..
