There is no standard discount from asking price in my experience. If the car is a hot item you can expect the dealer to know that and they will act accordingly. In my market there is a good supply of 997.2 and 991 with
Found this .2S and initially looks like an ok price for a CPO car. Not a steal considering it has 55K miles but I would hope to negotiate down a few thousand. BUT doesn't it look like there is a dent or 2 in the rear right quarter panel and bumper right behind the wheel? It looks like it is there in both of the pictures of the rear right. It almost looks like the seem between the bumper and quarter panel might not be perfect ???? Just wonder if anyone else sees this as well. The CPO service shows about $5K in repairs/maintenance done to get it ready.
Looks to me there's a small shallow dent or depression at least in the metal portion of the body.
In fact that area that has some shine to it and the surrounding area just doesn't look very right to my eye.
That the bumper cover is not flush with the sheet metal could be a bumper cover fitting issue but it could also arise because the sheet metal was re-worked and the fender contour is not the same as it when the car left the factory.
Check along under the rubber weather stripping for paint tape ridges.
It looks like a small fish eye dent. If it is, that can be corrected by a decent paintless dent removal guy for a few $$. $55 seems a little strong, but if its the car for , its the car for you.
definitely agree that $55k is too much for the miles and the condition of the car. I'm not in Houston so i can't see the car in person and without being able to see it i am always a little skeptical of the damage. I guess i will see what happens when they get it fixed and how it looks and then talk price. It would have to be a really good price for me to consider. Thanks guys for the input.
Lower bumper cover does no appear to be flush w rear quarter panel. That may indicate repair. Imho neone who buys w/o seeing and driving car is asking for unhappiness. Personally I'd have it checked for prior damage/repair. Lower price will not change that and when you resell you'll lose whatever you think you are saving.
I would start talking in the $47K range and hope to land very close to that. 55K is a lot of miles on these cars. My '10 4S coupe has 33K and it is a daily driver. The fact it is a CPO car adds to the value and might justify $49K. Remember it is a high mileage used car with some minor body damage....keep looking at that car until you can be sure no other work has been done to it.
