I did my OZ wheels orange and it's held up for several months. It looks good, but nowhere near as nice as paint or powder coat would look. For a temporary change or to try a color out, it can't be beat.

Just had mine done with a newer "dip" product called Halo EFX. It's more like paint than dip technology and supposedly more durable--it's also much less costly than paint/powder. They look great in person and I'm happy with the outcome, but haven't swapped off my winter wheels yet, so I can't speak to long-term durability.

Halo EFX results: be nice to see a pic, please.

I dipped wheels on another car. I wouldn't do it again. I did prep on top of prep, but the durability ain't there. I glossified, waited and glossified, but the gloss isn't there.

I dipped a chin spoiler and badges, and am extremely happy with those.

I've used PlastiDip in the past, but decided to try the vinyl-based AutoDip this time... Gunmetal Metallic.
It held up great until the track day and I got some small areas of peel.

Interesting about the autodip peeling. I've been wanting to try it but not so sure now. Thanks for the review!

Agreed. If you want a glossy finish or even some shine, skip the Plastidip. If you track your car or frequently remove the wheel, skip the dip, it will peel.

Otherwise its decent enough for changing colors or testing colors or if you don't remove the wheels often and you don't scrub really hard when washing the wheels and you don't mind brake dust sticking to the wheel.

Wheels are in storage otherwise I would. To my eye, though, the gloss and finish look as if they were painted. Very pleased with the outcome.

I dipped mine. Black + plastidips "glossyfier" afterwards for some extra gloss.
Picture was taken after a few weeks of usage and a few washes.

Do you have a picture of your car from the side with the GT3Tek front lip? Am thinking of adding the same to my meteor gray C2S. Looks good from the front.

My Turbo II's are almost 6 years old now and are getting bubbles in the coating so I have also considered dipping my wheels. But then I think that I will still have noticeable bubbles, that are covered in plastic....

So I may take the hit and have all four sandblasted and annodized this winter when I put it up for the cold weather.

Of coarse that leads me to "If I anodize the rims black, maybe I should have the hood painted flat black..."

Looks really nice. Where did you get it? Does it apply from a can or does it require a paint gun like some of the spray wraps?
