Adapting OEM 997.2 tail lights to 997.1 ????
Have a bit of a pickle. Have my 2007 C4S at body shop installing new Getty ducktail and GT3 style rear bumper(precision Porsche). Was told I would have to update my tail lights to 997.2 (a little different shape). Thought my body guy would be reshape new bumper to suit original tail lights but he said too much work. Found 997.2 tail lights but not sure what is involved to adapt them to work. I've seen the after market LED updated lights where you install resistors but don't know about OEM.
Will I need plugs, resistors, control modules???
Really like the look of this bumper so it's taking over my better judgement.
Hopefully someone else was as stupid as me to undertake this endeavour ....
Thanks in advance!

you will need the rear control module under the driver seat replaced with the new one (part number ends in .08)... from there you need to have your current rear module's settings copied over to the new one (very easy to to do with via pimis or durmetric pro), in addition of course to changing the output voltage of the control module to REAR TAILLIGHTS - LED.
i did the 997.2 conversion programming on my own car with a durmetric pro that i share with a few other rennlisters, i can help re the programming if needed as well.
you can try the FVD rear adapter (which i believe is a resistor) but i've had friends whom used it and had trouble. do a search rennlist search re conversion threads and you'll see what i mean.
the part number for the module is 997.618.260.08.
attached is some more reading that should help your conversion.

no problem
based on what i am reading you have an aftermarket 997.2 bumper.... so it sounds like all you need is the
taillights+control module
i would double check if you need to use/re-use 997.2 bumperettes + exhaust trims. bumper brackets etc etc should be swappable over.

997.2 tail lights won't fit the bumper pictured above.
The lights in the photos are aftermarket LEDs for a 997.1. I think you need to be sure of what you need or don't need before you spend too much money!

For the standard carrera rear bumper you would need whole lot of other parts than only harness and tail lights-not sure about the GT3 bumper though.
Anyway I think it is a good decision to upgrade to 997.2 look since you're doing the bumper anyway. What I did not like at the beginning is that my exhaust pipes were sitting a bit lower than stock 997.2 but I managed to get it fixed. I noticed the same thing looking at the photos you attached. The photo is after the pipes were redone.

That's going to look nice when it's finished.
