RideCache (pronounced “ride-cash”) is a brand new web application and service designed to help car enthusiasts and collectors digitally organize, manage and preserve everything they do to and with their vehicles. And we are also Porsche owners – you will see our 981CS in the demo video below. Most people worry about 2 types of risks with regards to their own personal data and information.

• Risk 1 - Losing their data. With RideCache, we feel confident that our solution significantly reduces the risk of losing your data. You of course will still keep physical copies of the most important documents in a secure location, but having digital backups with a service like RideCache protects them from loss due to fire, flood, theft, deterioration, etc.

• Risk 2 - Having their data accessed by someone other than themselves (hackers and thieves as you mentioned). While we have built RideCache on a commercial grade, highly secure infrastructure (read more here if interested: http://blog.ridecache.com/2016/01/22/ridecache-security/), it would be naive to think that any data stored on a public network is 100% safe in this day and age. Fortunately for us, the data we have for our cars is not typically of a highly sensitive nature - so the convenience and reduced risk of loss outweighs the risk from thieves for many people. Frankly, if you have information that would cause you significant harm if it were to fall into the wrong hands, it should not be stored on any device attached to the internet (including the device used to access this forum).

It comes down to a personal choice of trade-offs between the benefits of the technology solution like RideCache and your own personal tolerance for risk. We know RideCache will not be for everyone, but for many it has proven to be a great solution.

Now, here are 5 ways that RideCache might be able to save you some money - or even make you some!

1. Avoiding an expired registration/inspection fine - I know these fines can often be dismissed, but not without a fair amount of hassle and effort.
