Low rev squeak. Annoying. Tensioner? Tried to embed.

Could be one of the idler pulleys. But honestly it's too early to say. Get a second person to help here, one reproducing the sound front the driver's seat, the other outside the car looking at the engine with the engine lid open.

edit: see this thread for some info on replacement if you can positively identify one of the roller pulleys or tensioner as the noisy one https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...y-upgrade.html

Sounds exhaust-related to me. I had the same squeak.

Brackets/clamps (metal to metal squeak) or air leak. For kicks, with the engine off, push the exhaust lightly by the tail pipes -- Side to side and up and down a little. Wiggle them around.

Second and third listening = Willing to wager money it's the exhaust

Sounds like the belt to me...try the exhaust suggestion first, then spray a little belt dressing on it, if the squeak goes away your answer is the belt or tensioner.

Need a video with engine bay open to confirm.

Just had, what sounds like a similar issue, fixed. It was a worn belt primarily that was resulting in a pulley squeak due to tension loss. Was a cheap fix, new belt and tightened the pulley.

Sounds like a belt to me. Use a little of WD40 or white lithium grease one pulley at a time.

Good luck!

Ok I'll try belt dressing / new belt and spin the pulleys.

Do not use belt dressing. Instead correct the underlying cause.

My wife would never notice that.
I have a throttle question?
Sounds like you blipping the throttle?
Could the engine be rocking with that action?
Motor mounts squeak, exhaust squeak with the motor moving?
A slow throttle increase? Sound still there?

I'd toss some belt dressing on, to eliminate that possibility.
Lots of tensioners and pulleys in there too.

That sumbitch is quiet now. Hit the belt in a few places as well as the visible pulleys without removing stock airbox immediately sound is gone. When my canister steam cleaner gets here I'll carefully detail the engine at some point anyways.
