The H7 I had in Costco was just over $ 100.00 with a manufacture date of less than two months

Most of the brands just mentioned I have researched and discovered that that some out of one or two factories. Upon further investigation, I discovered also that you can also add SEARS Platinum AGM battery to the list!... In over a decade I have never had an issue with them and the 3 year (or 5 year if I might be mistaken) warranty is amazing with there "no questions asked" policy.

I will not run anything else.

as an additional note, you can actually install a much larger batter in the 996/997 and perhaps 991, Boxster/Cayman and well as Panamera and others.

Just take a look at the location as to where is it placed. If the battery tray is much larger with extra mounting bolt holes and you will know if you can da it!

The dimensions of the H7 are exactly the same as the 997 OEM battery (doesn't matter which model 997 you have). As stated before, the H8 will fit (width and height dimensions are the same as OEM) but it will be longer necessitating a modification to the hold down clamp.

I have been using NAPA batteries for the last 10 years. I had 1 problem with my Touareg battery and the replaced with no questions. It was pro-rated of course but still a big savings over new.

When I got my 997 last September it had a BMW battery in it dated 2008. I wonder how it even started. First thing I did was replace it.

Thanks for the info...wonder why it doesn't match up with the print out he gave me...

This is the battery you are referring to?

Sears AGM

Looks like a great deal and the specs are nice with the CCA and 170 minute reserve capacity
