C4s or c2s?
No regrets here with a 4S. As other have said, this car inspires a lot of confidence. 997.2s look particularly good with the strip across the back.
Surprisingly good car in the winter and wet. Also very good on track.

If I could tag onto this discussion, my question is about the steering feel. I've never driven an aircooled 911 but my '04 996 C2 had a very lively steering wheel. I loved the feedback. About two years ago, I bought a 2012 991 C2S. I read the reviews; electric steering but still communicative, filtered yet direct... Nonsense. I didn't like it and missed the 996's constant communication.
My thoughts are the 997 should be the Goldilocks car - alive chassis with more up to date and polished interior and equipment (still realizing I could be looking at 10 year old cars). For a variety of reasons, I've lowered my price point into the mid-40s (or even below) so I'm looking at 997.1 C2S and C4S.
Which brings me to my question - is there a noticeable difference in steering feel and communication between the C2S and C4S? The other differences (all-weather traction, widebody) are secondary to me. I need the car to feel alive, even at normal road speeds.

I've owned both a 997.1 C4 and a 997.2 C2S. Both had PASM and ran the same RE050A Bridgestones.
In my personal experience, the C2 has a much more nimble feel to the steering and handling. I felt it right away when taking the test drive right after driving the C4 to the dealer when I was shipping cars. I'd have to say I felt I had more control of the car. In the C4 I also had more trouble with off-throttle understeer. At times this became unsettling when entering a corner, but an application of throttle seemed to help a lot once I got the speed of the car down to where I felt more throttle was prudent. (Note that I am only addressing handling on dry pavement).
As far as linear acceleration goes the C2 cars have plenty of traction on reasonable road surfaces. I don't think for straight-road purposes on dry pavement AWD matters too much, at least until you get up into the Turbo power range.
Overall I prefer the handling of my C2, but I am also aware that there were some suspension tweaks in the 997.2 models that may explain some of this. I have to sat that I did immediately miss seeing the wide hips of the C4 in my side-view mirror the first several times I headed out in the C2. It was a bit of a surprise how much visual difference it made.
