Default Loving my 997

I have to tell people who will appreciate what I am saying -- I am coming to really enjoy and respect my 07 997 C2S. That doesn't necessarily go without saying. I never thought I would want a water pumper. I've owned a series of long hoods including a 73 S. A great car. Then a 77 930. And all the while, a 70 914-6 flared 2.5L. I am used to Porsches that are light and "throwable." I didn't think the 930 was, especially compared to the 914 and my memories of the 73S. The 930 had exhiliarating acceleration, true, but it felt heavy and that, combined with the turbo lag, made it not throwable. So, I was apprehensive getting the 997. But the more I drive it, the more I like it. It is a heavier car but it feels lighter than it is. It is very responsive, as you know, and it feels way more throwable than I would have expected. As I get more confident with it, the more I like it. And being older now, I appreciate the comfort and the refinement. I can drive it long distances without being beat up and get on it when I want to. It think I'll drive it to Parade in VT next summer. It is a great car. We are very lucky.

I don't consider my 997 anywhere near as "tossable" as my 993, but its still a good car.

glad you like it.
