Hello everyone. Say I find a really good 997.2 with an aerokit that I would like to purchase, but I do not like how the aerokit looks. What would be the cost to undo the aerokit? My main concern would be the status of the automatically deployable spoiler and how to regain that functionality. I am assuming that with the fixed wing from the factory, the technicians would not install the motor and switchgear to deploy the spolier either manually or at speed.
switching from an Aero wing rear spoiler/deck lid to a factory deck lid is a very simple conversion. You will need a complete stock deck lid and a stock lid wiring harness. Simply unplug the current deck lid harness, remove the aero wing, all four bolts, install and align the new deck lid and plug in the new wiring harness. You will then need to take you car down to your local Porsche dealer to simply activate the factory spoiler functions in the PMC. What color is you car? Some thing I have read from Porsche is they do not recommend installing a front aero spoiler with out an accompanying rear spoiler. Something about aerodynamic imbalances of have too much down force up front. Little suspect about their concern with that said. Cheers Paul
OP, likewise here, but with Carrara White. I'll even do the swap myself, if you're local to me. ;-) I'm in Newport Beach, CA. I've become very good at removing and installing 997.2 bumpers and deck lids (997.1 are a bit different). I'd say it can take as little as 1-1.5 hours.
Has anyone done this swap of replacing the Aero Kit rear wing with a regular decklid with no motor mechanism? My car is already programmed with a fixed wing so won't need a trip to the dealer. I think I just need to reuse the fan.
I did it recently. It's exactly what others say, a simple bolt on if you have a complete deck lid with motor and harness. I didn't remove the front aero spoiler and can confirm at over 80 - 100 mph the car does feel a little unstable but controllable.

Thanks! I have a decklid but no motor.. so hoping I can just plug in the fan harness and keep it fixed. Btw how do you get this grommet next to the fan out? I’m struggling and don’t want to break it.
