I didn't realize that the 2009 Meteor Gray C4S with PDK and sport buckets were "Launch Editions." A year ago, when I was shopping for a PDK C4S, 2 of the 3 cars I found using the Porsche search tool that met my requirements were Launch Editions, then. I actually bought the one that wasn't.

So, what is the benefit of getting a launch edition? Is it a bargain because you get discounted/"free" upgrades/options?

FWIW, I bought my 2009 C4S Launch about a month ago.

23k miles
$113k+ original sticker
Paid $53k for it.

Launch editions are a good .75 of a second faster 0-60 than a normal C4S. Just kidding.

Launch cars are just really well equipped.

GT2 Buckets
Sport PASM
PDK
Full Leather
Etc.

The seats alone in the car are worth $8k on the open market. These cars were sent to porsche dealers to sit in the showroom and show off what the new Carrera was all about. They represent what Porsche thought was the most desirable combination of options.

heh, yah. That was a pretty crazy deal. The car turned out to be rediculously clean.

Though I would put this deal pretty close to the one I got.

That car had a sticker of $118k and includes the sport exhaust. And it's a CPO car. You could probably talk them down to 56k even. Had I not found my car that white C4S would be sitting in my driveway.

It has three negatives that would take it off my list:
Not a fan of the rear wing
PDK
Black interior (my second least favorite after blue)

Yours is much better.

Haha. If Launch Eds were really faster at 0-60, I'd be kicking myself for not looking closer at them last year! Thanks for the info, Cysco!

Found her at Thousand Oaks Porsche dealer. 30k miles. Immaculate condition. Comparable price to the one Cysco got.

I have done nothing but prior owner the following;
Champion F77 kit so TUBI headers and exhaust, Giac flash etc
Also added gt3 throttle body, IPD plenum and that's about it. Car scoots! He also added the factory aero kit and few thousand miles ago (at about 20k miles) prior owner had flat6innovations do Www.theimssolution.com which included new clutch and water pump and some other things....
