I'll probably go with these when my car needs rotors. However, I have a question: One of the selling points I see for these 2-piece rotors is that "next time you need rotors you can just buy the rotor, you don't need the hat".

OK, that makes sense, but I never see just the rotors for sale, and what is the price difference? If the full set is $1200 for my car, how much are just the rotors?

The 350mm replacement rotors and installation hardware for the 997S cost $800 and can be found here and here

Girodisc has interesting pricing, look at rotor cost for same quality/almost same size domestic cars and Japanese imports- much cheaper than Porsche specific parts. Evo/Lancer rotors around $750. Mustang is similar. Meanwhile we are charged 50% more for essentially the same product.

Its the P-Car tax! LOL

350mm rotors need 6 piston calipers...like the Turbo/GT3 caliper. The Turbo/GT3 6 piston calipers are direct bolt on...no weird funny brackets needed!

FYI you can't just use GT3 350mm rotors as the rotor offset doesn't not work on Carrera/Turbo cars unless you change the uprights to GT3 uprights. So what you use is 350mm Turbo rotors...or aftermarket Turbo 350mm rotors because the Turbo rotor offset is the same as a Carrera due to Carrera and Turbo uprights.
