Default Nokian tires for C2S?

Hi folks,

I have a new to me 2010 C2S as of last week and am really enjoying the experience.

I will be driving it as a DD including through the winter in North Carolina and am wondering about winter tire advice. I have a chance to pick up a second set of 18" wheels with Nokian winter tires taken off a 2005 C2S.

The front wheels have engraved 8-57 and 8Jx18H2 and measure about 9" width
Rear wheels are engraved 11-51 and 11Jx18H2 and measure 11.5" width. Does anyone know whether these wheels from a 2005 C2S would necessarily fit a 2010?

Also, anyone have experience with the Nokian winter tires and their applicability for winter North Carolina driving (mostly sleet and ice!)

Thanks. Great forum. Have really enjoyed all the information here.

If your 2010 C2S has PDK then only use N rated tires.

That makes no sense. Care to elaborate why?

The rears have offsets for a widebidy. They should fit but might stick out a little. Prob not the best for snow/salt. I'd check the tire age. You don't want old or worn out winter tires.

No need for any "N-rated" tires nonsense with Porsche approved air.
Nokians are excellent winter performers even when they worn but not aged. I wouldn't buy anything older then 4 years old.
As far as rear offset, 51 is typical WB offset but will be flashed with a fender even with 305 tire for NB car like yours. The only problem is that ideally you want 265 tire on 10" rim for better snow traction. Perhaps, in your mild climate you wouldn't care as much as I would in Boston.

I have had a few sets of Nokian tires. Never for my Porsche though.
I've been very happy with them.
Lots of tread. Great in the snow and ice.
A full dedicated winter tire.
But they are loud. Louder than my wife. Thus, l really like them.
Check the age of the tires and double check the offset if the wheels.
New 18"s out of tire rack are going to be under $1000, price the used set from there.
