997 C4S Questions
I inquired about the CPO and service records, hopefully will get that info soon.
Took into consideration the .2's per the replies that many of you have posted and reviewing the differences between the .1 and .2 C4S. While doing so found a lightly optioned one and was curious on your thoughts. It's obviously abit more than the .1, however it is already CPO'd and from what I've been reading on this forum the engine is more reliable (ideally I'd be using this as a daily, in the tri-state, so the less worry the better).

Update on the .1: I heard back and originally they said it would be $3500 to get it CPO'd however I again asked for the service records and cpo inspection report and they now state it was actually traded in as a cpo and the warranty lasts till end of 2016. Does that sound reasonable? Still awaiting the service and cpo report (and will do a ppi if we proceed), but curious to know your thoughts.
It's this one in particular: https://jack-daniels.porschedealer.com/preowned/Porsche/911+Carrera+4S/2008/Atlas+Grey+Metallic/grey/1292718/info.php
It's a little to far out of the way to just stop in and during the weekdays my work hours conflicts with theirs. Hoping to make it out over this but likely the following weekend.

It was my understanding that a CPO warranty was NOT transferable to a new owner. Maybe someone can confirm or refute?
That said, the 997.2 has heated seats and (I think) nicer wheels... And heated seats are a MUST for cold weather driving! But $67k can buy a lot of non-dealer car, if you care to search more.

The 08 cant transfer the cpo to a different buyer, they are still not being honest about something. the 10 IS a cpo car and starts when you buy it. But I dont like the car, it doesnt have alot of options. I would look for a really good car and a really good deal. Its august, they are going to be trying to get rid of alot of cars soon
The warranties are not all the same. Most third party extended warranties you will find at a decent price will have more exceptions and you MAY find them harder to "collect" on vs. the CPO. The CPO is much more desirable than any third party / aftermarket warranty IMHO. When my CPO expires I "may" go for an aftermarket warranty but only because I have no choice. In fact, given the reliability of my car (knock on wood it continues) I may opt to just go warrantyless once the CPO expires.
Now I say only 2 years because I compare it to my 6yr/60k mile warranty EXCLUSIVE warranty from Fidelity that cost a bit more then a CPO warranty but adds 4 more years then the Porsche CPO. And its a exclusive policy meaning it covers basically everything except your wear and tear items. All Porsche dealers near me accept Fidelity and in terms of peace of mind, I enjoy having a 6 year warranty compared to a 2 year warranty anytime.
Just another point of view. And something for potential buyers to digest if they are planning to buy a out of warranty 997. It doesn't always have to be a CPO route.
