Default Front brake job cost?

Can anyone give me an idea of the "reasonable" cost of a complete front brake job using only Porsche parts? Thanks.

I am having mine done currently and I was quoted

"Without the pads, the fronts are $1079.62 before tax"

hope this helps

FYI I am supplying the Pads for this so you can add another $300 approximately

I had a similar quote for Girodisc units.

brakes are stupid easy, so if you can, its a good thing to DIY.

Rotors are roughly $450 or $500. Pads another $200. Figure about 3 hours labor for the front only. Add the spiders, sensors, tax, etc and you're looking at roughly $1200

I just completed this job with new discs, pads and sensors on the front, cost was around £250 ($400).
This was Zimmerman discs and Textar pads. Indie's quoted me £600 around ($950).

Do you like the Zimmerman rotors? I am tempted to go that way too.

The issue with the Zimmerman rotors are that the top hat's aren't coated so they will discolor over time. It's purely cosmetic, and if you don't care i don't see why they would be inferior to OEM, just like Textar pads make no real difference between OEM for everyday driving around town.

Yes, you will hear all sorts of stories saying Zimmerman rotors cracked for them, Textar pads birthed a squirrel.....yada yada.

For a complete brake job, you might as well go with
Rotors
Rotor Screw
Pads
Sensor
Pad Shims

Can look at front brake pad costs here and rotors here. This will help give you a parts cost idea. We have some helpful DIY's for pad replacement here and rotors here. If you're DIY inclined it can help save you money on the repairs, otherwise each article has a good estimated time and cost noted at the top of the articles. Good luck!

Wow! That's not bad. My local northern New Jersey dealer wants a ~$1100 markup on what the parts cost to do the front brakes on my Cayenne ($1770 for fronts) plus a few hundred more for a full brake bleed. Of course, they may have to pay for their new facility...

I didn't ask about what it costs to do the 911, as it literally took me 10 minutes to swap pads per wheel with a floor jack after I completed my first corner. As other said, this is an easy job. The rotors are easily replaced as well.

Is it madatory to replace the rotors with a pad change? What if you change out your pads early, say to change to a ceramic pad(Hawks). My current brakes have 23k original miles on them.

"My local northern New Jersey dealer".... Mine has a new facility too, beautiful... could be the same perhaps, initials pm.

They gave me an estimate of $1200 for parts and total of $1650...

Rotors $319 each
Pads $346
Cable $50
Brake wear $57
Spring clip $94

I've checked both Pelican and SunCoast. Pelican has OEM for much less but Porsche branded OEM for about the same, give or take. With these numbers, labor would be about $465.

Given that this is a P-dealer, I'm not shocked but the markup seems a bit high as Porsche branded rotors at Pelican are $226 each and at Suncoast $378 for a set ( not sure if they mean two).
