Default PDK on a 2010

Hello - I am interested in buying a 2010 911 with PDK. Did Porsche make 911's with paddle shifters in 2010 or were they all push button? Can a paddle wheel replace a push button wheel if I so desired?
Everybody I have spoken with about PDK love it. Now they are driving 991's with PDK. Is the PDK in 2010's dual clutch (probably a stupid question)?
It will be a daily driver so automatic PDK seems on paper what I might want. I am previous owner of a 2000 & 1986 911 and needing to get back in the game. Thanks in advance for your comments.

Buttons in 2010. Wheel can be replaced, but try the buttons before you decide. There are two camps.

Yes and yes. Buttons can be replaced with paddles. PAG and aftermarket options. Some change out with steering wheel. IMHO buttons suck, counterintuitive and feel terrible -- paddles only way to go. I went with Tech Art ones, pricey but feel sweet.

The Sport Design paddle wheel swap is super easy to do. And, for me, it changed the entire character of the car, when I added it to my C2S. And it really helped to make the car feel much newer. ;-)


Oh, and I'll happen to have an OEM Alcantara version available for sale here next week. It will be coming out of my GTS, and is in very good shape. Just FYI.

I have a 2010 C4S Cab with paddle shifters. I use them occasionally on longer jaunts with sport or sport plus -but for the most part - PDK remains in automatic mode. You really don't use them that often unless you live in a pretty rural area - then I envy you
One thing I do miss with the Porsche paddle shifter wheel (traditionalists will hate this) is the volume and next song skip buttons on the wheel

switching to leather?

I swapped wheels too on my 2010 C4S to the sport wheel. It made the car feel much newer and BIG difference for driving everywhere.

I switched to the paddle wheel and love it. I rarely drive my car in full auto mode. Here's what you are looking at for the factory wheel.

One of my first mods on my 2010. Steering with paddles. You won't look back at buttons. Too many accidental shift on spirited driving on mountain roads. And like all said its meatier, fits my hands better

Just bear in mind that the wheels from Suncoast with the paddles don't have the heated steering wheel feature. On balance, I use the heat more often than I accidentally shift with the buttons.

Easier? I might understand that some people prefer the buttons (although I can't think of any single reason), what is hard about pulling the paddles?
